SIMCHAS   3/4/15

Magical Orli is feeling champion

THERE was something magical about Orli Edwards' batmitzvah, officiated at her Prestwich home by Heaton Park Synagogue's Rabbi Daniel Walker.

The youngster gave a Dvar Torah on Harry Potter, intertwining the relevant points of the books about the boy wizard with Judaism.

The magic started for Orli the week before her simcha. The sporting superstar's netball team, DNA (Dad's Netball Academy), clinched the Bury Sportshall Premier League.

It is the third consecutive league winners medal Orli has collected in consecutive years, having won it in 2012-13 with Jumble Jets, with De La Salle the following season and now with DNA. Orli is also a keen athlete for Trafford AC and enjoys badminton, swimming and rounders.

The King David High School pupil is the daughter of Francine and Eddie Edwards. She has three sisters, 19-year-old ABBY, Ellie, 18, and 15-year-old Allana.

Grandparents present at the simcha were Aubrey and Barbara Moss and Lita Edwards. Orli's auntie, Heather Copley, flew in from Seattle to celebrate with her niece.
