RITA WANTS LINK BETWEEN POLLOCKS AND BLOOMS

RITA RADIVAN of Manchester wants to find a number of lost relatives. Her great grandparents were Michael and Rivka Pollock from Jacobstadt (now Jecapils), Latvia. They had daughters Etta (Etty) Bloomberg, Esther Rubin, Fanny Marks, Sarah Goodall and Ada Prager and sons Hymie, who married Miriam, and Rita’s grandfather Leib (Louis) who married Celia. Descendants of the Marks family — Harold, Doris, Lily, Sybil, Midred, Bertha, Sadie and Miriam (Mickie) — emigrated to Los Angeles. Rita believes one of their descendants researched a family tree, but she has been unable to make contact. She would like to find descendants of Sarah Pollock and Michael Goodall, Hymie and Miriam Pollock, who had daughters Renee and Clarice; Ada Pollock (Prager), who had daughters Vera and Phyllis. ‘‘I would also like to know how the Pollock and Bloom families are related,’’ Rita adds. ‘‘On the other side, the family name was Mikochinski, but was changed to Cohen on arrival in the UK. A cousin of my late father Myer Pollock, was Boris Miko, who married a Saffer. They had a daughter, Hilda and I understand that she had a son. I would like contact with them.’’ Contact 0161-766 1551 or email ritarad@ic24.net

DAVID FRIEDMAN of California is searching for additional information or contact with two families — the Planter family and the Ruby/Mosley/Silver family. ‘‘Jacob Friedmann, my great-grand uncle, was born in Schaki, Lithuania in the 1870s,’’ David explains. ‘‘ He moved to England and changed his name to John Planter. ‘‘He married a woman named Luxie (perhaps Louse Gluckstein) and had two daughters, Esther and Eva Planter. Information indicates he may have bought and repaired old houses or run a cigar store.’’ He adds: ‘‘Sophie Altmann, my great-grand aunt, was born circa 1867 and moved to England where she died around 1939. She married Moses Ruby (perhaps took the name Reuben or Rugby Mosley). They had two children, Claire and Louis. ‘‘Claire married Morris (possibly Maurice) Silver. They had two daughters, Dorothy and Rosalie. Dorothy may have married and had thee children. Louis married Esther and had two children, Bernhardt and Sheilah.’’ Contact 604 Picardy Court, Roseville, CA 95661, America, telephone (916) 786-5777 or email dafried1@prodigy.net
