MARGARET Stevens of New South Wales is looking for information on her Nathan, Moses and Elkan ancestors.
Lewis Abraham Nathan was born around 1822 in Ramsgate and married Maria Esther Moses on January 19, 1853 at The New Synagogue, Great St Helens, London.
The residence for both was 18 Goulston St, Whitechapel but they were not on the 1851 Census.
Witnesses to the wedding were Moses Levy and Isaac Myers.
Lewis's parents were Samuel Abraham Nathan and Catherine Elkan and Maria's father was Henry Abraham Moses. The couple emigrated to Sydney, Australia in 1853.
Lewis and Maria's children were all born in Sydney.
Samuel, born November 1853, married Amelia Colliss in 1877; Catherine, born in 1855, married Robert Hymann in 1872; Abraham George, born 1858, married Elizabeth Hopley in 1879.
Their children were Edward, born 1879; Henry Isaac, born 1882, married Margaret Elizabeth Scarsbrook in 1902; Rachael, born 1884; Pauline, born 1892; Pauline Mary (Polly), born 1860, married William Gomes in 1879; Edward, born 1863; Esther, born 1868, married Isaac Garcia in 1889; Sarah, born 1865, married Myer Levy in 1887; Rachel, born 1871, married Montague Audet.

JERUSALEMITE Ros Romem would like to find descendants of her great grandmother's brother Baron Jacob Cohen.
Her great grandmother, Sarah, was the daughter of Meir and Esther Cohen.
Baron originally lived in Ireland, but later moved to Liverpool. Their eldest child, Esther, married Abraham Libstein.
Ros has been in contact with grandchildren, but she'd like to hear from other descendants.
Ros is also trying to find information on Baron's brother Mark Cohen.
''I first learned of him from a message on the flyleaf of the Book of Psalms sent to his brother-in-law,'' Ros said.
Originally from Poland, Mark lived in Ireland.
Ros's late father was the rabbi at the Great Synagogue Cheetham Hill, Manchester from 1934-37.
Her grandparents Zecharya and Rocheleya Abramovitch are buried in Manchester but she does not know at which cemetery. Rocheleya died in 1936 and Zecharya in 1942.

BADEN Poole of Australia wants information on Benjamin Nathan, who married Clutha Mary Alice (nee Whiting) in Tasmania.
Both died in Melbourne around 1940.

Her grandfather Max Glick died in 1912 or 1913 while in his 20's. He left her grandmother, Ray Glick, with two little children - Marsha's dad, Ezra, and his sister Carrie.

A NEW website - www.zuidelijkewandelweg.nl - has been launched for older Dutch Jews who lived or were born in Amsterdam.
The Rivierenbuurt was one of the largest Jewish neighbourhoods of Amsterdam.
Jos Wiersema and Paul Gellings created the website about the neighbourhood so people can see their old neighbourhood how it used to look and how it looks now.
The website is only in Dutch.
TRACING THE COWANS: Glaswegian Harvey Kaplan sent in this photograph of Carl Winter with the Cowan family in the 1930s.
Carl attended medical school in Glasgow and lived with the Cowans during his studies. His daughter-in-law in New Jersey is trying to trace the family.
