Two queries for Raymond

RAYMOND Woolfson is after a double helping of advice.

He is looking for relatives of Israel and Etta Wolfzon as well as the descendants of Jacob Cogan and his wife Annie (Hanetta Montoriski).

Raymond knows that three Wolfzon brothers and a sister, the children of Israel and Etta, arrived in Glasgow from Zagare more than 120 years ago.

Jacob Woolfson was the first to arrive in Glasgow on February 18, 1886, followed by Louis Wolifson, three years later, on May 28, 1889, and then Moses and Pesha Leah Woolfson, with their six children, on March 14, 1891.

He doesn't know when their sister Nessie Bloch and her husband Harris arrived. Israel Morrison (nee Montoriski), Israel's grandson also headed to Glasgow.

Meanwhile Hanetta Montoriski arrived in the UK from Zagare or Skuodas in Lithuania in about 1900. She started her new life in Wales where she lived with Jacob in 1901 at 61 Middle Street, Pontypridd.

She changed her name from Hanetta to Annie Cogan.

She moved to South Shields where she had a child.

Mystery motel

WYN Smallman wants to know the name of the motel on Bury Old Road where her grandmother worked.

She believes it was run or owned by the Goodman family. It was bombed during the Second World War and the building was left beyond repair.

Wyn hopes to get in touch with descendants of Louis Goodman, who either worked there or lived there with his family between 1932 and 1940.
