Trilogy sees the birth of a new short play for Amy

AMY Rosenthal does not want the Jewish people to be defined by the Holocaust.

And it is something that informs the playwright’s work, the latest of which is part of The Arc: A Trilogy of New Jewish Plays, to be performed at Soho Theatre, London, from August 15-26.

The triple bill of short Jewish plays sees Amy’s Birth performed alongside Marriage and Death, written by Alexis Zegerman and Ryan Craig, respectively.

“I am always interested in how we talk about being Jewish in relation to persecution,” Amy said.

“On the one hand, we should always talk about antisemitism and the Holocaust, and not hold back, but I am anxious not to be defined by persecution.”
